Ivan, Cesar, Carlos and 'forgot the other name' - thanks for making this a very enjoyable experience! The private excursion is highly recommended as it made the entire process easy and relaxing. The crew was great from suggesting an itinerary, letting us control the music (needs to be downloaded prior to departure), and changing the itinerary as desired. There were 8 of us on Seabaris which can comfortably hold 12 to 15. We selected a private 7 hour excursion that included snorkeling, swimming, lunch, beach and more swimming, if desired. There is a restaurant/bar, bathroom, changing room, and small store at the Marina. We were greeted at the Marina by our host and he took us through the check-in process and we were off to the boat. Our tour started at 9AM and they picked us up at 7:10AM. We were picking up friends at another resort near Cancun and it took about an hour to their resort and about 45 minutes in traffic to get to the marina. The ride from Unico (Riviera Maya) is about an hour and a half to two hours depending on time of day and traffic. This is the 4th catamaran excursion I've been on in Mexico and by far the worst! We talked to the manager before leaving the Marina and asked to be refunded our extra upgrade fees but were told we would have to get off the boat and would not go at all.very un professional. We then got back on the very cramped bus for our 3 hour transfer to Riveira Maya. The sail back to Cancun was great and the crew were great. We were instructed on the street in the middle of crowds of shoppers that we had to walk to a particular jewelry store to get an arm band in order to get back on the boat, another attempt to sell us things.we had very little time on the Island. We then docked at Isla Mujeres but not at the private beach. Lunch was the worst meal we had on our entire vacation. There were more than a dozen groups trying to snorkel this area. The water was rough and you had to hold onto a rope and follow the guide. The snorkeling was about the worst in every way, the reef was dead. So then they told us they weren't providing breakfast on board but gave us a bag of snacks that they got from the store next to the marina. We were supposed to go on The Seabaris but were ushered onto the Megeira instead with way more people that did not pay for an upgrade. Also they told us if we didnt take the upgrade we would not be provided any food until 3pm. ![]() We were told we would have breakfast on board, premium drinks and an upgraded lunch as well as more time on Isla Mujeres on the Seabaris which only holds a max of 25 people. Then at the marina we were told we needed to spend more money for the upgrade to the private catamaran. After missing breakfast due to the early pick up time, we spent almost 3 hrs getting to the marina on an extremely cramped bus. First we were told if we had more than 12 people in our group we would have a private catamaran and we were told the transfer to the marina was an hour and a half.not true. We were lied to right from the time of booking at our hotel.
